Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Madrid: After checking into your hotel, the
rest of the afternoon is yours to explore the Spanish capital. This
evening meet your Contiki Tour Manager and fellow travellers at 6pm in the
hotel. (D)
Day 2: Madrid
Sightseeing: Our morning sightseeing includes a guided tour of the
Royal Palace. The rest of the day is free for you to discover this amazing
city. Perhaps see the Bullring or visit the famous Prado Musuem. Tonight a
chance to try fabulous traditional Spanish cuisine. (B)
Day 3: Madrid
to Cordoba: Today begins with a morning drive to Toledo, where we see
the Gothic cathedral and El Greco’s house. We then head south into the
heart of Andalusia. (B,D)
Day 4: Cordoba
to Seville: Today we travel to the host city of the 1992 World Expo -
Seville. Join us on our sightseeing tour including the Maria Luisa park,
or maybe take the opportunity to visit the tomb of Christopher Columbus. (B)
Day 5: Seville
to Granada: Today we travel east through the Sierra Nevada mountains
to the hilltop town of Granada which is steeped in Moorish history. (B,D)
Day 6: Granada
Sightseeing: Today is your chance to explore the spectacular former
residence of the Moorish Kings - the Alhambra Palace. Also, you have time
today to explore the historic Albaicin district of this city. (B)
Day 7: Granada
to Ibiza: Travelling east we head for the Mediterranean port of Denia.
After boarding our ferry we head for the party island of Ibiza where you
have the choice to either relax on the island's beaches or party till dawn
at one of the island's many clubs. (B,D)
Days 8
- 9: Ibiza at Leisure: Enjoy the beach scene by day and the club
scene by night. This is your chance to soak up the atmosphere of this
Balearic island. (B,D)
Day 10: Ibiza
to Barcelona: Today we travel by ferry to the 1992 Olympic city of
Barcelona. Stroll the vibrant streets or explore the lively port area. If
you choose you can even sample the local cuisine in a Tapas bar. (B,D)
Day 11: Barcelona
Sightseeing: Our included sightseeing tour is a great introduction to
this celebrated city. See Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia Cathedral, the 1992
Olympic Complex and the Gothic district. A chance to experience
Barcelona’s famed shopping street La Ramblas and discover some of
Spain’s specialties such as Lladró porcelain and Majorca pearls.
Tonight why not experience the passion of Flamenco dancing? (B)
Day 12: Depart
Barcelona: This morning a final farewell to your fellow travellers as
your tour ends after breakfast. (B)
