Leg
1 London to Scotland Day One
Heading
North from Central London we travel into Robin Hood's country. Check
out Nottingham Castle and the oldest pub in England for a refreshing
bit of real ale, before we gallop off into the 450 acre Sherwood
Forest. Its a dream to explore and with a picnic lunch you will feel
like one of the Merry Men before we make our way to Viking York
!
A chance to explore the awesome gothic cathedral (England's
largest), the Medieval city walls and the sights and sounds of the
lively city centre. After our fun viking feast, experience a spine
tingling ghost walk followed by a rally of traditional pubs. A great
first day we think you will agree!
Day
two Heading further North we
take a brief stop in the University city of Durham before a big
Angel of the North experience! We cross the River Tyne and into
Newcastle, home of football and beer, (and a bit of Sydney Harbour
bridge connection). From here we attack Hadrians Wall then take in
the spectacular views through the Northumberland National Park. It's
goodbye to England and Scotland ahoy. A pause at Jedbergh, a
historical border town, once home to Mary Queen of Scots before we
get to Edinburgh.
A Full walking tour of
Edinburgh by a very scottish walking guide and a bit of whisky
tasting awaits. Explore the Royal Mile and Edinburgh castle before
we settle down to a bit of Haggis, Neaps and Tats!
The
rest of the evening is spent enjoying a fantastic night out in
Scotland's capital.

Leg
2 – Scotland to Liverpool (with links to and from Ireland) Day three
Depart from Edinburgh we head back
into England. We have time for a quick call into Gretna Green where
the Ironmonger performs a shotgun wedding! Once you are married,
what better way to spend your honeymoon than a tour around the
spectacular Lake District National Park (the largest National Park
in Great Britain) and try out some of our great optional activities.
Have a chance to kayak, row or motor cruise the lakes or even
Wakeboard!. Visit an amazing water-fall, the highest pub in the
Lakes, and the largest lake in the Lakes, Windermere! and in the
summer months, the chance for a lakeside BBQ.
Afterwards we travel south for
a rocking night in the city of Liverpool . Get some Beatles Mania
down at the Cavern Pub.

Leg
3 - Liverpool to London
(via
Celtic Wales)
Day four
After
breakfast we take a trip down to the famous Liverpool Docks, and
cross the Mersey River and down into mysterious Celtic Wales.
We
continue West to Conwy -a cool castle town on the coast. Experience
some real Welsh folk and learn all about the Welsh culture and
language before a visit to......
Llanfairpwllgwngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. (the
longest place-name in the world) and get your passport stamped and
most importantly, get lunch!
After
lunch we delve deeper into the stunning Snowdonia National Park -
(the second largest National Park in Great Britain) dominated by the
highest peak in England and Wales - Mt Snowdon (3560 ft). See the
famous Welsh slate mines and go in search of Gellerts Grave where we
stop for a nice Ice cream(weather permitting).
We continue Eastwards to Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon. An
opportunity to see the Shakespeare houses and if you would like, a
play penned by the man himself at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre
(seasonal performances may vary and are sometimes unavailable,
please check with office if you are keen to see a play) or spend an
evening in the famous Medieval town. Day
Five
The morning is spent with more time in Shakespeare's home town
discovering just how many post cards you can collect. Late morning
we meander through the spectacular Cotswolds - spend some quality
time in a Cotswolds village (perhaps sample a cream tea) before
arriving in the University city of Oxford. Get a full walking tour
of the city's famous University colleges before heading back to
London for late afternoon. We aim to get back for around 16.00 hrs

Rock Hostel, Edinburgh
Leg 3 departs every Thursday morning at 07.45am from International
Inn, Liverpool.

does it leave from? International Students House - 229 Great
Portland Street. Directly opposite Great Portland Street tube station,
(Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith and City Lines) or is a 2 minute
walk from Regents Park tube (Bakerloo line) or Warren Street tube (
Victoria and Northern lines).
