A stunning 3 day tour of Wales
including the Welsh Valleys, Brecon Beacons, coastlines, castles,
Snowdonia National Park and much more.
Escape
the city of London and discover a country like no other. Many centuries
ago the Celts were driven to the fringes of Britain by foreign invaders
and developed a fascinating and unique culture in a land of their own
– Wales!
Explore this
beautiful country and meet a proud and patriotic race of people who have
helped shape this ancient land!
Day 1: London –
Abergavenny
We
leave behind the hustle and bustle of the big city and fill our
lungs with fresh in the mountains and valleys of Britain’s only
Principality, the majestic Wales! After crossing the mighty Severn
Bridge we drive along the Wye valley to the romantic ruins of
Tintern Abbey, inspiration for William Wordsworth. Lunch is in
Europe's largest ruined castle, Caerphilly, and afterwards we burn
it off with an afternoon walk in the Brecon Beacons, before
arriving in the town of Abergavenny for a well earned pint of
Brains!!
Day 2: Abergavenny -
Caernarfon
Heading
north through rural farmland where locals still speak the native
language, we discover how folk struggled to defend themselves
against English invaders. Lunch is in the ruined Welsh
Castel-y-Bere, the last stronghold of the independent Welsh
princes. We’ll take in some gorgeous villages like Hay-on-Wye, a small
town on the border of England with a rich history dating back to
Pre-Roman times. Then on to Snowdonia National Park, where
we’ll try to glimpse the top of Wales’ highest mountain.
Tonight we stay in the walled town of Caernarfon, in the shadow of
one of Britain’s most spectacular castles!
Day 3: Caernarfon -
London
Before
heading back across the border we’ll take you over to the Isle
of Anglesey, home of the famous ‘Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch’,
the longest place name in Europe! We’ll not be leaving until all
of you can pronounce it perfectly!! Back to mainland Wales and off
to Llangollen, where we can take a walk up to the awesome ruins of
Dinas Bran or the towering Telford aquaduct. Continuing along north
Wales, we cross over into England for our final stop -
Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon, a beautiful Tudor olde-worlde
style town, before making our way back to London.
